The Puy-de-Dôme, a unique province
The Puy-de-Dôme is a unique territory in France, but also in Europe. The largest range of volcanoes in Europe is spread out before you: extinct volcanoes, lakes and forests. You will discover preserved nature, villages of character and Roman churches.
The Puy-de-Dôme also includes the Limagne area with its colours and an atmosphere from the South of France, the Livradois, with its forests, Clermont-Ferrand, the busy capital, the Sancy with its ski stations and one of the largest skiable terrains in France and finally, the Combrailles with an accent of nearby Bourbonnais.
Festivals
In summer as in winter, animation is plentiful in the four corners of the region. In February, the world's largest short film festival is held in Clermont-Ferrand, as well as traditional, holy or contemporary music festivals as well as the largest gathering of bikers in Europe.
You can also discover traditional holidays throughout the different seasons.
